I am pretty sure that each of us has heard about BB cream and used it at least once. Some of you have certainly heard about CC cream as well. But have you ever encountered something like DD cream? BB, CC and DD creams – get to know their properties and find out how they differ and who should use them.
BB cream – properties
Its name is the abbreviation of the words “beauty balm”, which can be translated as a beauty cream. BB cream is a combination of a skincare cream and a covering foundation.
BB cream is designed to:
- hydrate the skin,
- cover-up small skin defects,
- unify the skin tone,
- provide the skin with sun protection.
BB creams may contain mattifying ingredients.
BB cream – who should use it?
BB creams can be used by women who do not need strong, high-coverage foundations due to their age and skin type. Such a product is best for the summer because its lightweight formula protects the skin without overburdening it.
CC cream – properties
CC stands for ‘colour & correct’, ‘colour control’ and ‘color and care’. Even though there are many names the two letters stand for, in each case, it means a cream that combines nurturing qualities with the properties of a foundation and a concealer, but with a stronger effect than the above-mentioned BB cream.
CC cream is designed to:
- moisturize and nourish the skin,
- provide the skin with sun protection,
- cover up skin imperfections and make the colour even.
Depending on the ingredients, a CC Cream can either mattify the skin or add shine to it. It has anti-inflammatory and soothing effects.
CC cream – who should use it?
CC cream should be used by women who have problems with their complexion, for instance, dilated capillaries, sensitive, oily or acne-prone skin.
DD cream – properties
The name derives from ‘dynamic do-all’ which means that the cream is designed to do exactly everything. DD creams have stronger conditioning and camouflaging properties than BB and CC creams. What’s more, it offers anti-wrinkle and brightening effects.
DD cream – who should use it?
Mature women whose skin requires an intensive nourishment and high coverage of imperfections will benefit from a DD cream the most.
