Foundation is the base for every makeup. If properly selected, it improves the appearance of the complexion, enhances its shine and rejuvenates. In turn, a foundation with inadequate properties or colour can give a completely opposite effect. How to avoid this? How to choose a foundation to match a particular skin type? Get to know the types of makeup foundations.
Foundation for dry skin
Dry and tightened skin needs additional nutrition and hydration, which is why the foundation for dry skin should contain vitamin E and substances that prevent drying. The consistency of the foundation for dry skin should be smooth because the fluid and milk can be spread without rubbing. Just tap them with your fingertips or use a slightly moistened latex sponge.
Foundation for combination skin
The selection of cosmetics for combination skin causes the most problems. To meet the needs of oily T-zone and dry cheek zone, use “smart” pads that mattify the first one and moisturize the cheeks. These types of cosmetics contain antibacterial substances and soothe irritations. It is best to choose light foundations, for example in the form of liquid or BB creams. In the case of the latter, you have to select wisely because only BB creams from Korean production contain healing properties.
Foundation for oily skin
For oily skin, it is worth using water-based primers with the addition of silicone molecules. Mattifying foundations with substances that absorb excess sebum and herbal extracts, such as sage and tea, which narrow the pores, will work just as well. In the case of pimples or blackheads, conceal the imperfections with an antibacterial corrector before you cover your face with the foundation.
Foundation for sensitive and allergic skin
Allergy sufferers know that the fewer the ingredients, the less risk of sensitization. For this reason, the foundation for sensitive and allergic skin should contain as little fragrances, preservatives and enhancers as possible. A good solution is to go for an ecological plant-based cosmetics and mineral foundations, which are made with only three ingredients.
Foundation for mature skin
To take proper care of a mature complexion, you should choose lifting foundations that lightly stretch the skin and improve its colour. The content of mica will reduce the visibility of wrinkles and soften facial features.
Foundation for capillary skin
In case of capillary skin, it is worth using liquid foundation with strong covering properties. The green concealer will also help you cover up the spider veins and redness.
