How to apply makeup with mineral cosmetics?

The selection of mineral cosmetics is very wide. We can choose from powders, foundations with various properties, concealers, eyeshadows, roses, bronzers, mascaras and eyeliners. Individual mineral cosmetics perform the same functions as traditional cosmetics, but differ from them in regard to consistency, and thus – the way of application. How to apply mineral cosmetics to get the best effect?

Makeup with mineral cosmetics – where to start?

Due to their consistency, mineral cosmetics easily fall off, so their application requires more experience. Another difference is that the brush is not put in a cosmetic jar. Instead, you should sprinkle a little powder into the cap, and then take the cosmetic on a brush. To avoid streaks, don’t forget to shake off excess powder. For the same reason, it is better to repeat the action several times than to apply too much cosmetic at once. This way, we will also prevent the cakey effect.

The so-called ‘wet’ application

To ensure the effect of fuller coverage, mineral cosmetics can be applied ‘wet’. In order to do this, spray the brush with thermal water or a hydrolate. The latter will also be useful to saturate the cotton swab with which we will use to stamp the face. This application technique is quite time-consuming and requires practice that will protect us from the effect of the mask.

How to apply mineral foundation?

The mineral foundation is loose, thanks to which it has a lighter formula and does not clog pores. It’s best to use a flat top or kabuki brush when using it. While the former gives the effect of stronger coverage, the kabuki brush is soft and delicate, making it suitable even for allergic skin.

Before applying the foundation, moisten the face thoroughly with a cream and allow it to absorb. In the case of oily skin, you can then apply a thin layer of transparent powder. The mineral foundation should not be poured over the face but rubbed with circular movements. Thanks to this, it will perfectly adhere to the cream or blend in with a natural film covering the skin. Apply the foundation to the cheeks and head towards the edges of the face.
